Judge Roberts is rocking. He is giving Senator Leahy a nice constitutional law lesson. He has already invoked the Ginsberg Rule on several occasions. Senator Leahy is not giving up, but he is looking bad.
President Bush is on the ground and is being briefed by the governors of MS and AL. He does not look amused.
Also, let's remember that Fox reported, I believe on Friday night, that President Bush had to call Gov. Blanco to say, hellllooooo, um, mandatory evacuation? Then Gov. Blanco interrupted Mayor Nagin's dinner to say, helllooooo, um, mandatory evacuation.
Do these people watch TV or look at the internet?
Update: Kathryn Jean Lopez verifies my memory at The Corner. She cites an AP story located here: http://www.nola.com/newsflash/louisiana/index.ssf?/base/news-18/1125239940201382.xml&storylist=louisiana, which indeed says that Bush called Blanco.
So, would a mandatory evacuation have been ordered at all if it weren't for Pres. Bush making that phone call?
You heard it here first. The GOP just lost in 2006 and 2008. Regardless of fault, reality, whatever, the images from NO post-Katrina are the end of the GOP reign.
I hope I'm wrong, but my gut says otherwise.
