I likey although it wouldn't be nearly as much fun as a catfight with Barbara Boxer.

Ross Mackenzie puts into words my old view of Tony Blair:
In many ways, Britain's Prime Minister Tony Blair has recalled no one quite so much as Bill Clinton - a leftie of dubious moral heft with a wife intellectually stranger still. Lately, his Winston Churchill side has emerged.
He has demonstrated with grace & conviction that he is a man of substance, conviction and courage. Three traits Mr. Clinton will never have.
Cal Thomas comments on the hatred of Bush by the Left, both here & abroad. Evil caterwauls when confronted with good. Watch. It's happening now.
Thomas Sowell reports on two new books that document two of the reasons behind the continued deterioriation of education in America. Just two more explanations for why my children will have to step over my cold dead body to attend a public school.
in the neighborhood. Am I the only one that thought Mr. Rogers would live forever?
Since this is supposed to be a domestic blog. Heh.
I generally loathe microwave gadgets, but this one from Tupperware I love. I fix lots of steamed veggies and this has but my time and effort in half. I got mine at Target although it's no longer listed on their website.
That brings me to my next favorite thing, Target. I was dismayed to read in a recent Business Week that Target's cool is fizzling. Hmmmm, maybe that's why I haven't bought a lot there recently. I have faith that they'll be back!
Six Diet Cokes per day. Does that qualify as a favorite? More like an addiction.
To feed my constant craving for new books, I look to Book Closeouts for cheap books; Amazon for depth and occasional good deals; and, Christian Book Distributors for spiritual selections.
More later.
1. Explain why you started to journal/blog. I've always wanted my own website and this seemed the easiest way to have one. I'm an infojunkie and this seemed like a great way to share my info with others.
2. Do people you interact with day to day or family members know about your journal/blog? Why or why not? No, only because I don't feel like the blog is mature enough to share. Also, a lot of my friends/family aren't infojunkies and aren't interested in the blog world.
3. Do you have a theme for your journal/blog? Christianity, politcs, domestic matters.
4. What direction would you like to have your journal/blog go in over the next year? Actually have more than 3 readers.
5. Pimp five of your favorite journals/blogs. Instapundit, Listen Missy, Rachel Lucas, Lileks, and Kitchen Cabinet.
In honor of Valentine's Day (or, more accurately, the day after Valentine's Day), I present a link to my first crush . Ahhhh youth.
OK, yesterday I panicked. I've been somewhat in denial about the war. But when anti-aircraft weapons went out around D.C. I had a reality check. Yikes. Off to Wal-Mart & Sam's. Duck tape (still in stock, but running low); tarps (ditto), food, water, etc. Will be going to Sam's today to get more bulk items like flour, sugar, salt, canned goods. I feel a Y2K deja vu. Maybe that was just the dress rehearsal.
I'm not actually concerned about anything happening locally. I'm more worried about the repurcussions of a mass casualty attack in other part(s) of the country. Also, I'm 180 miles (upwind) from Chicago. If something nasty happens to Chicago, we will be affected. My family is in Dallas and I fret about them.
I feel like I'm in a bad B-movie. We Gen-Xrs really have been raised in a rarified world. Too young for Vietnam, saved from the Cold War by Reagan and casually watching the Gulf War on CNN. Then came 9/11 and everything changes. I guess the good times can't last forever. They never do.
Late, as always.
1. What did you have for breakfast this morning? If you didn't have breakfast, why not? Chocolate chip pancakes at IHOP w/family. Carb nightmare.
2. What's your favorite cereal? Hmmmm, Captain Crunch comes to mind; although, we don't eat cereal at our house.
3. How often do you eat out? Do you want that to change? A lot. Several times a week. I think we're just right.
4. What do you plan on having for dinner tonight? Got a recipe for that? Haven't decided yet. Something with chicken.
5. What's your favorite restaurant? Why? All-time favorite is Star Canyon in Dallas. Even though it's no longer the hot spot it used to be, I love the atmosphere and the food. Here, it's Chili's because it reminds me of home. I never ate at Chili's when we lived in Dallas because there are so many more interesting restaurants to choose from. But here, it's pretty much chain-city and so Chili's it is.
1. As a child, who was your favorite superhero/heroine? Why? Wonder Woman. She was sooooo cool.
2. What was one thing you always wanted as a child but never got? To be a cheerleader.
3. What's the furthest from home you've been? Northern Minnesota
4. What's one thing you've always wanted to learn but haven't yet? Piano, Spanish, knitting
5. What are your plans for the weekend? Church, family - the usual.
May they rest in peace.
I was a sophomore in college when the Challenger went down. Reagan's words of sorrow at that time still resonate today.
And, what a testimony to how much has changed since the Challenger that we have to rule out terrorism as a cause of the tragedy.
